Gemmerized 1874 Hartford Sharps {Better Photos}
« on: July 19, 2007, 08:00:20 PM »
Here are the photos of my Pedretti 1874 Hartford Sharps that I just Gemmerized the front end.  I decided at the moment to leave the metal work in the white as it goes nicely with the rest of the metal.  I don't think plumb brown would do it justice.
Any questions or comments you can get me at:

Thanks

Triggersmith,
I love your Gemmer! Just something about those early CONVERSIONS.  Makes it right in my time period too. Did you buy the fore end blank or did you make it from scratch? I see one in my future.

Hello Charlie,
Didn't you used to have a revolving carbine that had the front end worked on?
I used a Hawken walnut stiock that only had the barrel channel routed for a 1 inch barrel.  I cut it off at the right length and it fit like a glove.  I will use the butt end also as there is just enough room to fit up to the Sharps breech.  Gives you the same grain all the way through the rifle.  Track of the Wolf has everything you need to do the conversion.  Need more info email me at:

Cool! I thought that maybe that was the case.
Yep i had a Revolving Carbine that  Major2  put an old Springfield fore stock on many years ago and it worked and looked great.
