Putting Conchos on a belt

Do you measure from each end and start in the center?  Or how do you do it. this a gunbelt with no loops, i want to put conchos on it instead

I determine where the center is based on halfway from the center hole to where the buckle goes through it. Then, yes I start in the center and lay them out towards each end.
