Cimarrons 2nd Model Richards
« on: April 19, 2006, 08:23:40 AM »
Just received a email back from Cimarron that the 2nd Model Richards will not be ready for shipment until 1st of the new year. Their web site still says mid 2006. Anyone else frustrated and disappointed? I would not think it would take that long since the most toolin it looks like it would take is the barrel. THe frame and the conversion ring looks to be close if not the same of what is used on the R&M conversions they sell now. All I can say, I hope it will be worth the wait. If R&D comes out with their kit, I may have to do some thinkin and figurin on the cost difference and my time.

I have had one on order since Feb.
I got almost the same answer from Marcey  @ Cimarron  " end of the year "

I'm going to hold out for mine ( I picked up a USPFA Richards in 38 that will do until mine arrives ) though 38 was not my caliber I couldn't let it go....

As it turns out I'm not bothered by the mix caliber 45 and 38 like I though I might be....

The '72 Open Tops are in stock, I got a pair consecutively numbered to boot.  Took three days to get them and that was over the weekend.

Ed

That is the disease ... Opentopitis

First I came down Hot flashes from the 1860 Army... then a touch of R&D ... next came the 72 Fever and I took 1 Richards Mason and called the next morning for the cure , a Type 11 Richards.
That was In Feb. I still wait for that cure.

I suspect I may never be cured of Opentopitis  ;)

I want them allllllllllll !

Major, how about a cartridge conversion for the Walker or Dragoon?  Lug a pair of those... . :)  Makes the little '72 look like a pocket pistol.  I must admit that a R&M II has a certain amount of appeal.
