Right. I've got this heart issue where my valves don't open like they should all the time, and basically what happens is my heart beats, but the blood is not able to flow out. Pain, dizziness, yadda yadda, y'all know the song and dance. I've also got prehypertension (high blood pressure runs in my family).
Great thing is, most medications give me a very bad turn.
So, this is some advice for any of y'all out there that have issues with the ol' ticker, or with your blood pressure being higher than you'd like:
Hibiscus tea. First found it when I was living in Sudan, they called it "Karkadé." (Kur-KUH-dae) It naturally lowers the blood pressure, slows the heart rate, and even helps you sleep.
I ain't hawking any particular brand-I myself use Tevana's "Very Berry White." Not cheap. Not cheap by a LONG SHOT. But it's the closest I've found to what I drank over there.
Point is, in a world of heavy medication, if you're ABLE to cut back/out some, I think it's a good thing.
Now, I'm not saying "Stop taking any meds and start drinking herbal tea!" no no no no no. I AM saying mention it to your doctor as a potential way to help moderate your issues.
Thought I should post this here, and I'll be posting it on a couple of other forums I'm a member of, since I've had one hell of a night as far as my issues are concerned, and if this helps ONE PERSON, it's worth it.
