The British Govt. spending money on essentials???? Go and wash your mouth out!

They have reduced our armed forces down to no more than an honour guard,,,,what the hell do they need ammo for?

Come to think about it, there may be more FAC holders now in Britain than there are soldiers!

I've tried virtually every brand of primers over the years. There is a difference in the construction that could make a difference depending upon circumstances. Here is an incident that I laugh about now(but surely didn't then). I just bought a new 44-40 3rd Gen Colt SAA. Had some Blackpowder rounds loaded up using several different primers. Went to the range and all shot pretty good except some refused to fire no matter how many times they were hit. Went home and noticed all the rounds that didn't fire were CCI's. Some of the CCI's did fire and were very accurate. Couldn't figure this out until I broke the gun down. Someone at Colt didn't drill or tap the mainspring screw hole deep enough so the screw was too long and the mainspring was loosely flopping around on the trigger guard! After shortening the screw and snugging it down all the primers went off next time.
I know the difference in primer hardness has been mentioned here many times before. However, when I first started reloading many years ago I was assured by the "experts" in the gun magazines that all primer construction was the same in terns of materials used. This is one of the reasons I come here to gather information and share experiences with trustworthy individuals. Most of my gun magazine subscriptions are expired.  Best to All  Navy Six

PPC shooters use only Federal as they reputedly ignite with soft hammer falls. CCI have the rep of being hard shell. Whatever works in your gun .....

I recently ordered 15,000 large pistol primers from a Canadian source as I got them at a good price. They are Russian made! Russian primers seem to work pretty well gunning down Ukrainian protestors, so I don't anticipate any problems with them going ''Bang!" in my CAS and IPSC guns.
