Welcome to my world ....

I live on a lake and every morning and evening, I get to look 200-250 yards across the narrow end at moose feeding in the marsh grass. Cow moose and calves, bulls courting them, some with 12 points per side.
I look at them through my spotting scope and cross hairs, or sit with my Sharps 'buffle rifle in x-sticks, eating my heart out ..... Why?
Moose tags in this region are by lottery draw. I haven't gotten a tag in 6 years!

A pal came up last fall from the big city and we beat the bushes together. I damn near killed him looking for deer and bear, but all we could find was huge moose. Three at a time on one occasion. We gave serious consideration to poaching just ONE (who's to know?) but decided it violated out hunting ethic and we weren't going to starve over the winter without it.

God has got to stop tempting me this way ... ;>)
