Hi,

I was finally able to copy the pic or the sight ... here it is:
My moniker is my great grandfather's name. He served with the 2nd Florida Mounted Regiment in the Civil War. Afterward, he came home, packed his wife into a wagon, and was one of the first NorteAmericanos on the Frio River southwest of San Antonio ..... Kinda where present day Dilley is ...

Thanks for the suggestions.  I already shipped the Marble sight back requesting an exchange for Marble Improved Base for 1873 and Mid range tang sight stem.

If that doesn't work I may be doing one of your suggestions.

I have a unique situation .... once my Model 73 arrives, I can use my Model 94 as a test bed and keep the Model 73 SASS legal. That way, if the local SASS people nix one of my ideas, I still have a gun go compete with.

So I will keep you posted ....

I got out to try my new marble sight combo yesterday.  With the sight set as low as it goes it shoots about 6" high at 25 yds.  At 100yds its about 18" high.

Looks like I will need a shorter stem.  I'm going to use it at a match Sunday where the target is at about 180 yds.  After that I'll probably return it for a some what shorter stem.

When I get a working combo I'll post the part numbers.

Finally have a working combination for my Chappy 1876.  This combination gave me enough elevation for shooting to atleast 200 yds, I didn't try it farther than that but it was almost out of elevation.  Here are the MidwayUSA part numbers:

part # 228273 Marble Screw set #19  $4.99 (Marble part # 995019)

part # 995425 Marble Improved Tang peep sight base $59.99 (Marble part # 991001)

part # 886927 Marble Improved Tang peep sight Standard Upright $34.99 (Marble part # 990110)

I also changed the front sight to part # 583923 Marble Front sight .410 height .531 width 3/32 gold bead.

I've been looking for a tang sight to fit to my Uberti-CImarron 1876 for a while (am tired of everyone laughing at me during long range)

Does anyone know what the screw hole differences are between the two?
