RIP Richard "Old Scout" Clark
« on: August 07, 2009, 12:41:55 AM »
Richard's daughter had him taken off the respirator and all other artificial means
to keep him going this afternoon.

It's now between him and God, and I didn't get the impression that he was expected to
survive the weekend.

I'll give you more when I have it.

UPDATE 4:00pm Friday, August 7:

He's been off the respirator and all medications...oxygen only...for over 24 hours
at this point and seems to actually be rallying.  He's fighting, at any rate.

More later.

FINAL UPDATE:

Folks, I'm sad to say that Richard Clark...Old Scout...passed away at about 9:20
tonight.  I have no details or any other information at this time.

Tom

Crossing the River is the most personal thing we will ever do.... :'(
I know Old Scout only from these threads , to him & with him I send my prayers.
Trust in the Devine Design and it will not let you down.
If he is called to Scout beyond the River, may his familly and us be comforted to know he goes the Glory road.

when planets align...do the deal !

:-[ Prayers for the family.  May Old Scout rest in peace.  Had occasion to do some business with him, he fixed a rifle for me.  One heck of a Cowboy.

Cremation with no services.  It's what he wanted.

I need some help.  Barb asked me to write up something for the wire and the Cowboy
Chronicle.  I'm finding how little I knew about a man I thought of as a close friend.
Ethan Cord provided some info, most of which I knew, but an Eagle Scout?  I need all the
info I can get, date and place of birth, family, schooling, military service dates and
places, all that.

Also, I don't/can't do pictures on the computer, so I'll have to forward all the text to
someone and have it sent on to the Chron, Utah Bob for his memorial site, SASS Saloon,
CAS City, Brimstone Pistoleros site, and anyplace else it's going be appropriate.  I'd
also like to be able to get good hard copies for his family and Barbara.

I'd like to have something ready for approval by Monday or Tuesday.  All help will be
appreciated.

Tom

I know what you must be going through Forty Rod.

We heard the news at the W3G World Cup. Lefty Longridge made the announcement about his being off life support and then Sam Houston announced that Richard Clark aka Old Scout had gone ahead of us to make sure all the guns were working correctly and that the range was in fine shape for when we get there.

I had heard of him being an Eagle Scout too. Another fine accomplishment at a young age.

With bended knee, I wish him God speed in the next journey and condolences to his family.
