primers

I went to buy primers the other day and due to the paranoia over the new president I can't get
my normal primers for my 45/90 load. I have been using CCI large rifle bench rest, I came home
with the CCI large rifle standard grade. Any ideas how much this will affect my accuracy?  My load
has shot under 2 MOA. I have a buffalo shoot coming up with ranges probably not over 350 yds
so I'm hoping these primers will work at these ranges. Does anyone have any experience
comparing primers

I'm gonna guess for the most part you won't see much different.  My understanding from my friends who shoot BR is that a match grade primer and a standard primer from the same company are real close to the same, just more care in uniformityin the match type.  Something with large scopes, rests and match grade rifles is often hard to detect with out a calipers.

Billy, I found negligible effect between types of primers in my early test loads (years ago) in my .45-70. I actually got the best groups using CCI large pistol primers....but I don't care for the possible long-term damage to my rilfle's breech face.

I'll add this, of all the things I've tried to get my rifle to shoot better, finding a standard and getting all the bullets to look perfect and get them to weigh no more that a 1/4 grain over or under that has did more than all the rest combined, althouth some things helped more than others.

Here's the difference between CCI & CCI Benchrest: nothing other than they make the benchrest primers on a different day and use volunteers and have the best employees  attend the machines. That's straight from Speer. The same applies at Federal as both they & Speer are owned by ATK.

Makes sense, better and more careful employees make a better product.

About 15 to 20 years ago, there was another panic on primers.  After that, I bought whenever I saw a deal.  I now have about 3,000 of each basic type of primer or more, but only about a "'thou" of shottie primers.

I think my estate sale will be a doozie!

If I remember that was right after Clinton took up residence in the White House in 1993.  Hmm, anyone see a pattern here.
