does anyone know were i can find good wooden checkered grips for the 44 russian? also looking for some smith and wesson stocks for 1930 -1940 s&w pistols with the s&w medalions. need several. thanks, kurt250

You, and everyone else needs those Pre-War S&W grips - they're desireable as hell, even when not numbered to the piece - so keep looking at the gun shows and online, and be prepared to pay a premium when they're advertised.

I don't know if this is of any interest to anyone, but I have a pair of grips off a 1918 S&W 2nd model Hand Ejector revolver ( .455cal)
that I kept when the British Govt. confiscated our handguns. (Replaced them with a set carved out of punkwood and screwed them on with woodscrews)
