Opinions on the New Cowboy?
« on: December 20, 2007, 05:01:08 PM »
I sort of like the all polished blue look of this revolver from USFA which reminds me of the movies of the 1950s that had all blued SAAs or clones in them.  What do you think?

What do I think?  I think it has been WAY too long since we last heard from you.  Again, welcome back!

The main thing about the cowboy that I dont like is the brown rubber grips.  It looks odd to me.  Other than that it is a USFA and a fine gun.

I'll second Deadeye on the grips. And just picture it with the hard rubber black grips, I think that that combo would look great.

If they wanted to be a little different, black rubber grips with the "Eagle" would be awesome.  I just think the USFA logo with an Eagle would be the stuff.  I have three Rodeos I would immediately outfit with Eagle US Grips.

I like em, and I do like the brown grips. I actually prefer a blued frame to CCH on a Colt...nice price too.
Smoke em if ya got em.

I have been thinking about getting one for some serious shooting duty since I won't cry like I would if it had a case colored frame that faded.

I am going to order one in .45 LC.  This weekend I went shopping around Houston and could only find one at Collector Firearms.  The fit and finish on it is great.  I like the all blue more than the Rodeo.  Collectors wants $895 for it!!!!  So I will be ordering from the Marshall after Spring Break.  Now I just have to decide on barrel length.
