The poll would have been better served if the wording would have been:

"If HRAC made an exact copy of the original 1860 Henry, or one at least as accurate as the Uberti Henry, would you buy it?"

I think the outcome of the poll would have been completely different.

Another question I have is why would a moderator put a poll up like this in the first place when he knows how his forum members are going to answer it?? Just a question as to who benefits? Do we the members, or the advertiser in the poll??

Ok I need to go find this poll.  You have peaked my interest.

Ok read it and voted.  It is the American way!  I wont say how I voted, but Uberti makes a damn fine Henry.  Safe shooting.

Deadeye.....

I don't know if you are aware of the history of the HRAC advertisement.....but because they have use of the Henry name they were trying to pass their rifle off as being the same as the original Henry and it is not even close.....that really turned a lot of the Henry afficianadoes off as far as their products were concerned....

When they were developing the Big Boy and designing the tooling for it...it would have been real easy at the onset to manufacture one that at least that looked like the original Henry Rifle. I'll bet they spent enough money on advertisement and pressuring SASS to accept this rifle that it would have paid for the tooling. But this has all been rehashed over and over......

I'm one of those that would be more then glad to pay a premium for an American made Henry clone/copy or what ever you want to call it. Look at what USFA has done and now they are getting ready to manufacture a Remington 1858/1875 clone licensed by Remington USA. USFA's firearms are not cheap...but they sure don't have a problem selling what they manufacture.....

Maybe we ought to campaign to have USFA make us a copy of the Henry ??

Bill,
I had heard awhile back about the Henry rifle company that bears the name of its namesake but not the actual firearms.   With the increasing popularity of groups like NCOWS, I think companies will be taking a harder look at making actual reproductions of historical firearms rather than "modern updates".   USFA should make alot of guns as they do such a fine job of it.  I am really eagerly anticipating getting more information on the Remingtons that USFA will be making.  Maybe... just maybe Henrys will be made in the distant future.  Gary Granger does read postings here so perhaps we should post a suggestion in the USFA section?

Safe shooting.  Deadeye.

Deadeye.....Darn good idea!!!

But do you think Rawhide Rio would let us post it there since it has to do with reproducing a Henry rifle. I don't know Gary Granger but form what I've heard he seems to be a straight up guy.

There is only one way to find out Bill!   Just make it clear we are suggesting another product that USFA would likely sell alot of.
