I am afraid that if I see a comparably good deal on an Evans, I will pick the conversation with the wife!  But if there are two of them, I might let you know about the second one.  If I can talk myself out of getting a "backup."    ;)  I'm pretty fond of the Evans platform although I've only ever held one in my hands.

It seemed the gentlemanly thing to do. Please let me know when I can help out again. Next time with an Evans riflle if you please.

Butterfly effect, I call it cow phart effect.  Interesting reading about it.

Out here in tornado alley you average about a half an hour warning on tornados.  50 years ago and more ago if them sirens were blowing, it was on the ground and someone was likely dieing.  Much better than being wrong about a little rain, or at least most of our opinions.

You are 100% correct about that. I am so thankful that you told how a correct bullet had cured yours! I was at the point of near giving up and now it is a joy to own & shoot.
Thank you, Sir.

Smoke,
I will commit to buying this from you pard. Please PM me to seal the deal.

You may have saved me an awkward conversation with my wife by removing this temptation from me!

A clear plastic bag wrapped around the gun before you take those parts down works great to catch flying springs and detents.

Badger

That is a great idea in general.  I may have to do that with certain guns.

The bullet profile makes all the difference. Made my .44 Russian chambered carbine a pure pleasure to take to a match. Will be my 'take to' for the Grand Muster this June at Sargent, Nebraska. Nothin' better than a happy shooter, eh Alan? ;D
