Taller Front Sight material?
« on: January 20, 2008, 09:44:34 PM »
I am wondering if any of you know where to find sheet brass or other metal to create a taller front site?  I have a .44-40 Henry, and the previous owner has filed down the front site so that it is zeroed in at 200 yards.  Great for long distance shooting but not so good for CAS.  I am going to pull it off and replace it with a taller front site.  At the moment I don't know where to find the material.  Also have any of you tried this before?  It seems like it wouldn't be that difficult to make because all it is a brass blade.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a handsome, and well preserved body; but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming...."WOW!... What a ride!"
