It seems to be a beautiful day for the first COWS shoot of the year......but at starting time it was cold and raining-pretty hard rain. So most of us bailed out. By the time I got halfway home, the rain stopped, now the sun is shining bright.

I have to brag.   ::)

I've been working on our dog, and finally felt comfortable letting her off the leash outside of the yard.  She was so excited, and I got to keep my arm in the socket.  ;D

Coffee and water are steaming. Cups are out.

Weather is about to change.  Last day of sunshine today, before TK’s clouds blow in over the Hill.  Supposed to get about .25 in. of rain tomorrow and Wednesday.  The Truckee and most of its feeders are still running high, so a lot of people around here are crossing their fingers to keep everything within the banks.  They have been letting water out of Lake Tahoe and a few other reservoirs to keep some room in them for the thaw when the sn*w in the mountains starts to melt.

Morning all.

Took the dog out twice yesterday, for a total of about 10 miles of primarily up hill( I live in a place where you can literally go uphill both directions.  ::)  ).  She's discovering her Labrador side, in that no puddles were passed without at least getting bounced in.  There's also a pond where I introduced her to swimming: a decision she is very happy about.

Now, on to work today. I'm going to try to vacuum today before anyone gets in and tries to make important phone calls.

Had to take our fire hoses to one of the streets this morning. Boss didn't like all the mud someone got all over the place. Unloaded boxes of skirting for one of the older homes, and then planted three light posts at the new homes. Had enough time to set them up, eyes, head and bulbs. just have to put the plugs on the other end of the wires tomorrow. ::)

Fire is banked, pot is on, got home about a half hour ago, microwaved some supper and headed to bed.  Still at at least 2 weeks out before things can change.

Morning all.

It's 45 here, with scattered rain.  And by that, I mean dry one second, pouring the next, then dry again.  It's like standing under a bucket of water that someone dumps on you.  All or nothing.

Yesterday, I think I broke nature...  I was out with the dog on a sort of narrow bank beside a pond.  I was throwing sticks for her, and I grabbed this one stick that was about the size of a baseball bat.  As I threw it, the ground I had been standing on started to dissolve under my feet, so I jumped back.  As I sat there watching it, a channel through the side of the pond just opened up and water just poured out.  It was still going when I left.  ???  Apparently it was a magic stick.

TK, that "pond" didn't happen to be behind the Oroville dam, did it?

Well, I mean, technically it's behind the Oroville.  But, there is a 300 mile distance between. ;)

Morning all.

I have to get to work early today.  They have a big meeting going at 8:30 in the conference room, and I haven't been able to clean it all week because there have been small meetings.  :-\

Weather is both clear sky and pouring rain simultaneously today.  I still haven't figured it out.

Guess you've never been to the Great Plains, one time 3-4 years ago it was snowing in my back yar and builing up on the ground and raining only in the front, and my house is just a 2 bedroom bungalow.  ::)
