" A Christmas Story" has become one of my holiday favorites. I've got it on DVD as well as VHS for backup.

There is a channel that shows that movie for 24 hours straight on Christmas Eve fer the last few years.  I wonder what happend ta Peter Billingsly, he was great fer that part.

Hey, I remember "Messy Marvin"!  He sure was an inspiration.

Other than checkin' the zero the other day om a leaf in the back yard, the last thing it shot was a big buck squirrel in the butt.  Didn't like Rowdy and me and came down the limbs almost in out face.  Last time I seen him he was about a 1/2 block west a headin' down the power lines.  Good thing, the next time it would have been the Remmy Cee Bee's and the Nylon 66.   Use the long case ones and ya have a good workin' straight pull you can here the firin' pin hit the rim.   Always keep a couple boxes of them in the ammo bunker.

Got two big stainless steel dog dishes last night.  Little poop surprised me, didn't think he'd pick one a them up.  We are now working on that, just grabbed it last night, 1/4 still full of water, jumped on the bed with it, got it away from him with no spillage.

Still can't figger out why at 2 1/2 years old he now wants to pick up his dishes, oh well, the other one was 9 before he decided to open the ice box door when we were gone.

Del, Maybe Rowdy wants to show off his dishes to every one. Victoria walks around with a retriever roll in her mouth like a cigar. She plays a game of "keep away" with me. She teases me by walking by and she wants me to grab the retriever roll.

Shane would steal beer cans out the kitchen trash ‘n chew ‘em. Reckon he liked it. Him ‘n me’d come home after a summer’s day retrainin’. Hot ‘n tired. Window A/C blew inta the kitchen. Get me one ‘n pour him one in ‘is bowl. Too grimey ta sit on the furniture. Sit on the kitchen floor wit the mutt ‘n we’d enjoy. Tell tales. He didn’t smoke. Pull ‘nother ‘n he’d look it me – ‘Uhh, where’s mine?’ N’er give ‘im more’n two. 65-70 pounds two’d knock ‘im on ‘is ass. She’d get home ‘n he’d stagger o’er. Ears back ‘n tail waggin’ – belch in ‘er face. ‘You got ‘im drunk again!’ Good days, good memories.
