My 7 1/2" on strong side, and my 4 3/4" or 5 1/2" in the crossdraw. But I am getting tire of the "dance" and will soon switch to a left and right strong.
When I am out in the desert, I go with the 7 1/2" in crossdraw.

...besides, I never wuz too good at dancin'.

Russ T, that belt is way too big for a little kid like you.

The problem is when I sit down the knife and gun barrels form a tripod, and my butt don’t touch the seat!!!

Russ T that could be a real problem depending on what seat you were trying to sit on.

I wear two strong side holsters with crossed belts. The two strong side holsters allow the most flexibility for different shooting categories. The crossed belts are because I don't have a big enough butt for a single belt rig to hang on. LOL, one deep breath and everything's down around my ankles.

When shooting at SASS matches I usually have on 2 straight holsters, but I also have a crossdraw holster I can use.  I prefer the 2 straight holster set-up.

For shooting NCOWS, our club prefers the more historically correct 1 pistol, 'stead of 2.  I have 2 personnas.  Actually it's the same personna, just two time periods.  In one, my main portrayal is that of a recently retired First Sergeant of Cavalry.  (Which is what I am in real life, but a Staff Sergeant to be exact.)  The other is a soon-to-be retired First Sergeant in the 4th US Cavalry, A Company.  (In which I served during the first Gulf War but we called it A or Alpha Troop, 4th Armored Cavalry.)  The main difference is the clothes I wear.  I wear standard Western clothes for my 1st portrayal, and a nearly complete Indian Wars field uniform for the active duty edition.  Mostly, for both portrayals, I use the Prairie Belt I got while serving.  It has the standard flap holster on the right side, and I have to partially draw the pistola, then rotate it 180 degrees before the barrel clears the holster.  (For safety and not breaking the 180 degree rule.)

I LOVE having choices!

This is what I have worked up too, Marshall. I have two belts with a holster on each. I can wear one and slide the holster anywhere I want it that day. They are both strong sides but I use one crossdraw if that fits best for what I am doing that day.

If I wanna just look cool then I wear both belts at the same time with strongs on each side. Kinda like the bad boys in the old 1950's westerns.  ;D

Y'all have some real neat threads way back through the pages. Good reading material.

Cheers,

I've decided to try a shotgun belt for my right holster with a plain belt on the other side, worn under the shotgun belt, of course. Behind the right holster there's room for my bullet pouch before there are any shotgun loops. The perfect outlaw rig. At least for now, until I find something better on another body... ;D

I am left handed (technically ambi.) so when I order my rigs from Paul, I get a left strong side and right side crossdraw. But, I usually order a spare holster to occasionally have both strong side.

When I got the Scout rig (Fair weather Christian belt and holsters for my Remingtons, I got double cross draw, but got the spare incase they get nervous on the firing line. (actually it is easier for me to draw that 7.5 REmmy from a crossdraw than the reach to pull from a strong side holster.

 :)Howdy Pards,
For me, it depends on the weather,  :o I allways wear socks, most of the time underwear ;D, usualy blue jeans, sometime I have a pair of Cowboy pants wiith suspenders, a light shirt unless it cold, and then a heavier shirt  :), i also might wear a coat or jacket,I have a one of a kind designer flat rimmed hat  ::) ??? ;D, and boots!
I put my pistols on my pants pockets, unless it cold out, and then I put them in my Long Coat pockets! O i do wear a pocket watch, i like to know when it is lunch time :)

Now down to what you realy wanted to know, since I havn't got to shoot but 1 and 1/4 shoots, both times I wore Double crossdraws, 2 differnt rigs, if I ever can get to shoot, I will wear Double Cross draws, for one reason, I don't care about winning, and I love the looks of Double Slim Jims, I think I wore my Double strong when one of my open tops had a little problems.
i still have hope to be able to stand and shoot! And then I might wear any config there is, just to be differnt! i understand the part of competeing to win, i went threw that shooting Skeet, now all I care about is when the gun is drawn and pointed at the targets, that I kit them all, as fast as I can.

Sierra saddle co. #703 strong side and a crossdraw made by Don Smith (England) to my own pattern for (originally) Ruger Super Blackhawk. Now though, being a Dirty Rats, (and the Brit Govt. now owning my Blackhawk and OMV) I have a pair of ROA's on board. I also have a Double strong in black, more hollywood to my way of thinking which I made myself and I've just finished a sheath for my Walker in Crocodile pressed pattern.

I wear left and right strong side fast draw holsters of my own design.  When I was young I wore a crossdraw  and it was all right, but now that the middle age spread is here, My gut won't let me reach the gun!  Don't like the dance either.  Already enough for my limited brain to think about without worrin' about a DQ. :)

I have both strong sides and crossdraw, But I seem to be leaning toward the strongsides. I want to shoot FGF or at least duelist and the stongsides are, at least in my opinion, the best choice for me.
I use to think being able to shoot with either hand just meant I wasn't very good with either one but CAS changed that, now I wonder why more people don't develope their weakside.
Lost..... I ain't never been lost...... fearsome confused fer a month er two once... but I never been lost.
