Uberty 66 44-40 twist rates

A friend has a early Uberty 66 rifle that he is having trouble geting to group,every thing looks good, bore crown&chamber but he does not know the twist rate,if somone could give me the twist rate for this rifle I will make up some loads that should work for him

What powder, bullet design and weight, aren't working for him now?

The reason for my interest is I just acquired a Uberti, 1866 Winchester reproduction myself.

Thank you that is what I was after,Stillwater I hav not loaded any for him yet,but if the older Ubertys have the same twist rate I would think a 200gr .61 long bullet travelling at1162fps to 1200fps should work well,I live in Australia so the pouders I youse are ADI AR2205(H4227/H110)or traill boss for these type of rifles

Oh, I see the problem... Your from the land down under, and every thing is upside down compared to us here...  ;D ;D ;D  Not being serious of course...

Still, if you would post updates to your 1866 Uberti reloading efforts, it will be good to read.
