'Type 1' Uberti Henry
« on: January 25, 2016, 07:50:06 PM »
I have never posted a photo of my rifle even though I have owned it since 2000. I traded for it with a fella who 'sculpted' the buttplate, filled in the hole for the lever latch and also added neat (IMO) brass tacking. I redid the wood myself with diluted leather dye followed with about 5 coats of Truoil:

FCK,
Really nice rifle.  Kinda like "I like watcha did wid da place."  Really nice Rifle.  I have been sorry tempted to take a belt sander to
the top of the crescent Butt Plates on all of my Henry(s) and 66(s).  Don't care if it's "exactly" or not.  Just more comfortable.
Nice.

The very first Uberti "Iron Frame Henry" I worked on had no lever lock and no lever lock hook at the back of the lever.  It was a really
neat gun that I enjoyed working on.  As that gun turned out, was one of the smoothest and fastest rifles I ever built.  In fact, as
strange as it may seem, the smoothest and fastest stock lever throw rifles I built over the years were both Henry rifles.  Go figure.
The sad part of that is, one of em was mine and for no good reason I sold it to my Vet.

Nice rifle Kid. I have stripped and re-stained all my Uberties. Only have a 30" 73 and a Henry left.
