But Marshal'ette, your loving husband, the ever faithful Marshal, debassed himself to model those hats for you. Believe me when I say that took a lot of love for you on his part to do that.

Well, it took a lot of 'something ' to put on those hats with everyone in the store..
but I don't know if 'love' is quite what it was..

Knowing the kind and sweet Marshal'ette, the dog will have a comfy spot next to the stove where it can stay warm.

<Whisper Mode on: ;D  Slim taught me this. ;D>  I keep my extra quilts in the hall between the gun room and my sewing room.  My wife hates the steep stairs.  I can always find room to lay them out in my sewing room.  There is room in the gun room, but I hate sleeping on shot and spent primers. ;D

Most common yes, the only, no.  Photo's, written accounts and catalogs of the time period show more than the white/off white.  Most white are linen a hard to dye fabric, most colored ones are cotton, an easy to dye fabric.

Maam, did the Marshall sleep well in his dog house last night?

Ya might want to make him feel better by going out and buying him a present, maybe a CD.

I might sugest something by the "Hillbilly Bard" Hank willians Sr.  Look for a song called "Move it on Over."

Came in last night about a half past ten
That woman of mine she wouldn't let me in
Move it on over (move it on over)
Move it on over (move it on over)
Move over little dog cause a big dog's movin in

She changed the lock on my front door
now my key, it don't fit no more
So get it on over (move it on over)
Scoot it on over (move it on over)
Move over skinny dog cause a fat dog's moving in

This dog house here is mighty small
But it's sure better than no house at all
So ease it on over (move it on over)
Drag it on over (move it on over)
Move over old dog cause a new dog's moving in

She told me not to play around
But I done let the deal go down
So pack it on over (move it on over)
Tote it on over (move it on over)
Move over nice dog cause a bad dog's moving in

She warned me once, she warned me twice
But I don't take no one's advice
So scratch it on over (move it on over)
Shake it on over (move it on over)
Move over short dog cause a tall dog's moving in

I'll crawl back to her on my knees
pretty soon i'll be scratching fleas
So slide it on over (move it on over)
Sneak it on over (move it on over)
Move over good dog cause a bad dog's moving in

Remember pup, before you start to whine
That side's yours and this side's mine
So shove it on over (move it on over)
Sweep it on over (move it on over)
Move over cold dog cause a hot dog's moving in

  Or George Thoughgoode did a cover of it in the late 1980's. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

<Whisper mode on>  That's what ya taught me Slim.   ::) ::)  I do to have an aussie skin, it is in my car when I am not wearing it.  I also include it in my hidden gear at ren-actments.  Sorry, I had a case of hypo-theria that reached the second stage one rainy morning when it was upper 50's (one of the most dangerous times, folks ferget it can happen)  I was cooking breakfast in the rain and fighting to keep a fire going and went into uncontroled shivering.  My car was near by and I started it and turned on the heater.  I had dry clothes in the car.

<Whisper mode on> I think we'll get you back in the house soon Marshall, I don't think she's that cold hearted. ;D  <Whisper mode off>

I got a new disk with that song on it, Three Hanks, with Hank, Hank Jr, and Hank III all singing together on it.  Very good.

I've got the George Thorogood and the Hank Williams version.

I prefer Hanks! ;)
