Super Bowl Salsa Recipe
« on: February 04, 2010, 08:15:20 PM »
This recipe comes from my Maternal Granny (1/2 Breed Apache) & yes I add "one dab mean"
1 can 14.5 Whole stewed tomatoes (not the diced ones)
Jalapeno chilies (1 or 2 for the mild, add more for medium, Serrano & Habenero for butt hot you know what you can handle)
A few sprigs of fresh cilantro (this is gauged from a ladies pinky finger BUT NOT STEMS, just leaves)
1/2 of small white, red or yellow onion & coarsley chopped
6 or so baby carrots
Garlic salt sprinke
Add tomaotes to blender squeezing tomatoes and adding in juice
Add rinced cilantro leaves, onion, carrots & spice to blender and whiz in blender for appox. 20 seconds.
This salsa will "age" with a couple days and will keep for 2 weeks in the fridge if it lasts that long 8) :P ;D :D :) ;)
Letty

Letty,

We will see how it works, I didn't have any stewed maters or carrots, so used fresh/ripe maters and skipped the carrots <oh well>.

It is aging in the icebox as we speak, but will probably be gotten into this evening ;).

I'll let you know how it worked.

Modoc,

Fresh "maters" will be good also, the carrots add just a "hint of sweet" to work well with the garlic salt...
Hope it worked out for 'ya  ;)
