Morning y'all.
Coffee and tea are ready.

Some videos are uploaded. More are currently uploading. Slow Internet connection.  ::)

'Tis 45 and overcast. "Showers likely and a chance of thunderstorms. Highs in the upper 60s. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent."

Why I wound up not needing it?

Because I got an excellent deal on a full length unfinished 1898 stock and handguard later on, and I am not building two rifles.

Need to find my camera and take pics..
But this is a finished replacement stock and unfinished forend wood I picked up for a Krag rifle and wound up not using.

Its cut off at the lower band, so should be easy enough to glue and pin the forend onto it for a full length stock.

I have an unfinished handguard cut for a 1905 model to go in the deal as well. (pretty sure its a 1905? its for the rear sight that has the windage swivel base, I believe.)

$200 and whatever the shipping turns out to be.

If theres interest, I'll get some pics up when I figure out where the camera wound up.

Okay, here's the easy way to eliminate the safety. Drive the pin out that holds the safety in, remove the three parts. Take a .25 ACP case and cut it down to about an 1/8"-3/16" and Blue Lock-tite it in place. If you can find a W-W stamped case it looks even better.

And be aware there is a detent ball and spring in there. I saved the spring but the ball went to parts unknown.

Gunsmithing / Re: Rossi 92 parts- will older interarms era parts fit newer guns?

Seems to me, someone maybe Palo Verde Gunworks or UniqueTek makes a blanking screw to replace the Safety.
I know Palo Verde make one for the JM Marlins, I installed one on my 94CL along with their spring kit.

Well, we are in Mississippi tonight, heading on down to Mobile, AL tomorrow for our oldest g'niece's graduation Friday. Gotta admit, I really like this Kia Carnival Van for traveling, holds everything we want and still has enough room to stuff a VW Beetle with all the clowns inside. And man, it rides REALLY nice.

The Leather Shop / Re: New project holster/belt

I like 8-9 oz leather for unlined holsters. That's just slightly thicker than many of the ones from the later 1800s. A good wet molding and it will hold its shape well.

I am not an expert or a pro but I have made a few rigs and to me 10-12oz. seems a bit excessive. I am planning a California holster and Fair Weather Christian belt soon. It will be unlined and 7-9oz leather.
