Spencer Serial Help

Hi,

I have a Spencer 1860 carbine. There has been some disagreement on the serial number of the carbine. I believe it is a 25038 and others believe it is a 35038. Obviously, this would make a difference in the manufacture date as well as the Unit that was issued this rifle.

I could use some help on this as I would like to know more information about this carbine.

I have attached photos of the 2 serial numbers plus a photo of the overall carbine.
