Cowboys & Aliens
« on: June 15, 2013, 07:49:15 PM »
I just watched the last 15 minutes of it. They had enough of the right stuff to have made a good western, but they didn't.
Yes, I do have more facial hair now.

I liked the novelty myself. Do I prefer Tombstone? Yes, but C&A was fun.

I thought it was well done and had a very strong set of actors with an excellent script.

I have to agree that it was a perfect blending of two genre that I enjoy. It was like getting a double-dip ice cream cone with sprinkles. ;)

As both a fan of sci-fi and good dusters, I enjoyed the flic. With Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford in it, how could you go wrong?

I also enjoyed the guns and the leather they wore. Nice to see guns other than SAA's and Hollywood quick draw rigs.

Shouldn't this discussion be on the 'movies' page?

That's downright un-American!  ;) ;) That is why you did not like the movie. I have always been a sci-fi fan.

I liked it well enough . . . I'm pretty sure they came up with that, 'cuz "cowboys and Indians" is politically incorrect these days.  ;D

Yup. Here in the land of the Great White North, the PC terms would be: "Cowpersons and First Peoples Social Interaction".

I'm guessing you're not a big fan of Erich Von Daniken? ;)

RCJ, count me a big fan of Erich, just I treat it like science fiction.  Problem is too many people think it is history.  Apparently the History Channel does as they have given him voice again on Ancient Aliens.   I may be a chemist, but I have a history degree too.   I love to watch Ancient Aliens just to get my Blood Pressure up, ticks me off every time.    :D
i did like the episode about the potential Alien crash in Texas.
I don't think we are alone in the universe, but if the aliens are more advanced, they sure don't want to come here on vacation.

It was good for what it was intended to be.
A spoof..... and...
Last hurrah for Harrison Ford, and promotion for the "blonde Bond".
