Sent ya an E-mail Theywood.
It is a well settled fact that there is nothing in the world that would not benefit from the addition of ninjas, pirates, moneys or midgets.

Re: Calif Police & Fire Games - Now the Western States Police and Fire Games

That is right fellow Law Dawgs,  the California Police and Fire Games are now the Western States Police and Fire Games and they will be in Reno in 2005.

As with the previous two years, the WSPFG will include an event called Western Shooting.  SASS rules apply and it appears that the envent will be at the Washoe County range near Pyramid Lake, North and East of Reno.

I don't have a lot of details yet but will post them when they hit my desk.

Needless to say, this here law dawg will be there...... any one else?

Ok guys
I didn’t think about checking here until now, as I’m not a LEO, but it suddenly hit me.

In truth the WSPFG will be held in Reno, NV this year.  The Roop County Cowboy Shooters Association has been asked to host the Western Shooting venue.  As the contact for our club, I have become the coordinator.  I’m trying to work though what was/is expected of this venue, and have decided to put it on as we did our annual two-day match last September.  We will have 10 stages over two days.  The tentative schedule will be:

SHOOTING SCHEDULE:
Friday     7/29   08:00-08:30   Shoot registration
Friday     7/29   08:30-09:00   Mandatory Shooters Meeting
Friday     7/29   09:00-12:00   Main Stages (first 4 stages)
Friday     7/29   12:00-01:00   Lunch
Friday     7/29   01:00-           Main Stages (next 3 stages)

Saturday  7/30   10:00-      Main Stages (final 3 stages)
Saturday  7/30             Awards

SHOOTING LOCATION:
Washoe County Regional Shooting Facility
21555 Pyramid Lake Highway
Reno,  NV  89510
(775) 475-2991

As I’m new to this (WSPFG, not CAS), I am not sure of what is our responsibility and what is handled by the association.  If anyone has questions, let me know, and I’ll try to answer them.  As has been noted, we will be going by SASS rules, but with some modifications.  We will not be grouping shooters by the standard SASS classes, as this didn’t seem to be done at the last games.
If anyone attended or had input to the last Western Shooting venue, I would like to hear from you, so we can try to make this an enjoyable experience for those attending.
