Noah is nowhere in sight, and animals are not pairing up...
though guesser's say' different percentage wise  :-\
course, they all agree on "HOT" upper 90's.

I'm making a run to ACE hardware; I need a rust remover head for my angle grinder.
I want to knock the loose scale off the bottom my steel bullet traps and re Rust-O- leum them.

I was one of the "watcher's"
I did not bid as I have a 2nd edition copy but wanted to see what it went for.
I'm pretty sure I paid $ 75 for my copy maybe 10 or so years ago.

Edit: for Kevin's comments ... :)

Great find:

Thanks for sharing.
Please tell us if it is a first or second edition.
Second Editions, 10 years ago, new, were $70.  In my opinion, yours in seemingly as-new condition is easily a $100+ item.
All the best,

I did win it.  Fairly hard to find, but I thought it was reasonable. Thanks for the heads up, I never knew it was even listed.

In case anyone cares, the book sold for $62 + $5 shipping.  I don't know if it was someone here who bought it, but it shows how sought-after these specialty books can be.

Okay, this is what happens when a City raised Northern Girl winds up moving to rural Arkansas. My lovely bride has for the last three years been planting flowers at our new home here. And has been in a losing battle with the local whitetail deer population, who are very happy to graze on every plant she has planted so far. Tonight as we returned home, there were 3 whitetails in our yard. They simply stared at us as we pulled in and parked in the garage. As I exit the car, I hear my wife telling the deer to "Just go home! Quit eating my plants! Leave, Go away!...etc..." I am now in trouble as I couldn't help myself from cracking up. I am worried she's gonna take up poaching!  :D

Uberti, Pietta and other SAA Clones / Re: Donor Pistol

...PS -- Pietta does not sell or offer a 44 Spec cylinder.

Good luck with your project.

Yeah, that's why he got the .357 so the cylinder can be rechambered.  Who knows, everybody has their own reasons for doing whatever.  If 44 Spcl just couldn't be found otherwise, I could see it being more of an option.  I would just buy a Cimarron 44 Spcl Model P.  However, they chamber that in the Pre-War frame only, so it would be a 3-click gun with a medallion grip.  Both of which can be changed, of course.  But I'd be more likely to buy the Old Model P in 44-40 and add the 44 spcl cylinder.  But I already have enough 44 Spcls, 2 Colts, a conversion, a Thunderer and a '66.  Actually, I picked up a used 44-40 cylinder that fits perfectly in my Thunderer so it is dual caliber now also.

Back to the OP, if the barrel on your donor gun is in good shape, you could probably sell it to recoup some of your cost.

Had a nice spring day here, mid 70's, blue sky with a few puffy clouds and a slight breeze. It rained across the river just north of us, but nothing here. It can stay like this all year round as far as I'm concerned.
