A deluxe finish Henry rifle with a silver-plated receiver

Early production Henry Rifle with the distinctive rear sight dovetail in the receiver and rounded profile butt plate. This deluxe finish rifle has a silver-plated receiver and butt plate, blued barrel and casehardened loading lever and hammer. The walnut stock has a high gloss, varnished, 'piano finish'. The rifle is fitted with the standard Henry sling swivel on the left side of the stock and sling loop on the left side of the barrel. The standard folding leaf rear sight is mounted on the receiver dove-tail; the rear sight dove-tail on the barrel is fitted with a blued block. The rifle is complete with the original, four-piece hickory cleaning rod furnished with early production Henry rifles. The top barrel flat is marked: "HENRY'S PATENT. OCT. 16. 1860/MANUFACT'D BY THE NEWHAVEN ARMS CO. NEWHAVEN CT." in two lines in front of the rear sight dove-tail. The restamped serial number, "2258" is located on the top barrel flat ahead of the receiver, on the lower left side of the receiver tang, in the upper tang inlet of the stock, on the inside of the butt plate and on both of the butt plate screws. All of the visible serial numbers match. The receiver has extensive, expertly executed, Germanic style, scroll and punch-dot engraving on the top and sides of the receiver. The engraving extends to the upper and lower receiver tang and the heel of the butt plate. The engraving features a distinctive wavy border on the frame, side plates, tang and upper half of the butt plate. The engraving is very similar is style and coverage to that shown on Henry Rifle No. 1441 on page 15 of THE BOOK OF WINCHESTER ENGRAVING by R. L. Wilson. The engraving style and coverage are also nearly identical to that of Henry Rifle No. 1101 shown on page 50 of THE WINCHESTER BOOK by George Madis. Madis notes that Samuel J. Hoggson worked for the New Haven Arms Company and that Hoggson's engraving typically featured a rounded point punch on the final scroll and a distinctive wavy border surrounding the side plate and receiver edges. Both of these distinctive features are prominent on the engraving on this rifle, but we cannot confirm that he executed the work.

Taint crazy.  Took one look at that rifle and started counting my pennies.  I not only want to have one of mine engraved, but silver plate as well (or nickel).
Back when Uberti in this country was still Uberti USA, they had available, one, 1866, full engraving, presentation wood, cast from "SOLID SILVER ALLOY" rifle.  Found later it went to a discriminating collector for 28K.
Such small pay checks.
