BTW, working on a Remington 742 for a buddy. Derusting and cleaning.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a gunsafe dehumidifier?
Slim
Like you, I had done some work on an old Shotgun for a friend.
I my case a Stevens Model 59A Bolt Action Shotgun.
The Stock was cracked and had been repaired by a BUBBA , there was fitment issues.
The action was moving back under recoil and would jam the bolt when you tried to re-cock to feed for the next round.
Somewhere, the fellow acquired a replacement stock, that I fitted & finished for him...
Repaired the Safety slide spring and fixed the trigger pivot pin....
Stevens Model 59A's were inexpensive back in the day and aren't valuable or collectable today.
He had taken it to a Gunsmith and was told it was not worth fixing...calling it junk!
BUT to the guy it had a sentimental value, and for him something he wanted to shoot...
it wasn't junk to him....
So, I agreed to look at it, and I was able to repair it.... being retired I had the time and enjoyed the project.
He wanted to pay me; I said naught!... but he insisted and stuck $60 in my shirt pocket.
