Art Prints
« on: April 12, 2010, 06:01:28 AM »
Hi guy's and gal's, this could be tricky!!

When in Scottsdale, Arizona on holiday some years back, I was browsing souvenir shops and came across a series of landscape prints depicting groves of Aspens.
When you looked closely, you can make out a file of Indians, on paint ponies, that sorta blended into the background.

Also there were mountain and lake views that, with the reflection, morphed into the image of an Eagle.

The whole series were of this type of puzzle picture.

What bugs me is that, I cannot for the life of me, remember the artists names and consequently can't find anything on the interweb.

HELP!!! If you can,,,pretty please!!

I believe you are referring to Beverly Doolittle.  She is famous for challenging the observer to find all the things she has hidden in her paintings.!

Hi Russ,
I think that could be the artist I mean.
Some of her images on that website are definitely among those I saw in the souvenir shops.
Apart from the 'camo' subjects, I find the detail amazing.

Thanks for the heads up!

I found another site that has more of her Western themed prints.

Glad I could put a name to the paintings.  Always loved her work!

Ive been looking for a painting i saw once.Sort of like a Doolittle but i don't think she did it.It was titled "See the Indian"? It was a forest and you keep looking for the indian, about the time ya get tired of starin at it this big indian face pops out from nowhere,it actually made me jump...If i would have had the cash i would have bought it right there about ten years ago at 450.00 it was a good sized painting too and it was awsome!

I have one of hers titled 'Woodland encounter". it has a bright red fox in the center background that draws your eye right away. then in the foreground , just barely visible, is a couple of Indians on horseback in a birch grove. Once you have looked at it for a while they are easily seen but at first very tough to find.
