I took my H&R and a bucket of 45-70's to the range today.  Darn staff on the vernier sight broke so it was me, the front sight and good ole Kentucky windage.

After a few sighters, finally got the hang of wetting the front post, cranking down on the stock and letting her rip.

After 3 hits at 10x ... 100 yards, I got real cocky and said ... Hey, I don't need no darn rear sight.... so,

Moved over to the 600 yard range, stood in the face of the wind (about 11 mph) and OFF HAND .... punched 4 shots into the 10X and a flyer at 600 yards.  Them holes were so close together, looked like one of those BB gun targets at the circus arcade.

Then laid on the ground like them ole Creedmore Shooters, spit down the barrel to that front post, wetted my finger and tested the wind .... 5 more 10x's

Think I'm ready for the Grand Nationals out in AZ?  Them boyzs will freak out watching me spit on the front post.

Slim ain't the moderator here on this forum.  He moves the ones in The Longbranch to Tall Tales even before they turn into a Tall Tale  ;)sometimes.  He can smell if they is turnin' that way. ;D

Woke up this mornin will plans to do some work around the house but that dang Sharps of mine was already up and wait in my truck.  >:( It's makin such a fuss that I got to take 'er to the range.  Never seen a such a spoiled gun B4.  Anyone else got the same problem with their Sharps?  What do ya do with 'em? ??? ???
