The Mom-in-law sent me a garage sale find. It was an old, rusty Russell skinner that had a close call with a garbage disposal and looked like it had seen better days. The Wife asked one day "What are you gonna do with this piece of cr#p.!" "Your mother sent it to me." "Well what are....." you know how those conversations go. Well, I did something with it. First, I rasped and filed away the fifteen layers of polyurethane gooped all over the handle. Then I reshaped the handle and fixed the mangled tip by carefully grinding away the damaged portion. I removed the rust with some 0000 steel wool and a little elbow grease. Turned it into a nice little clipped point skinner.
