Only thing I know about toaster oven is i have one someone gave me, put a new plug on the cord and it works fine. I put lead ingots in it when I'm casting and turn it up to about 400-500 depending on the alloy.
When I need more lead in the pot I grab what I need with a pair of big Channel-Locs and add it to the pot and it melts real quickly.
Mechanic I used to work with kept one of those old 'lectric popcorn popper filled with 30 motor oil, made lousy popcorn but he kept the brass sycro rings for the old VW transaxles in it. Graped them with a needle nose and they slid right on and tightened up when cooled.
Seen shops keep them soft plugs/freeze plugs/casting plugs in the freezer of the beer refrigerator, then theyed slip right in the block and then tighten when they warmed up.
Kitchen tools ain't just to make food with ya know.
