New to USFA Forum- Question on early None US Made Part Guns
« on: January 14, 2012, 01:30:15 PM »
New to forum and new to USFA SAA's. I have read that early revolvers produced by USFA with none US made parts are of questionable quality and less desired. I also have read articles by experts during the period when USFA used imported parts that such revolvers are of very  fine fit and finish and of high quality . Why then would one want the later USFA US parts revolvers over the earlier ones other than the  "buy America" issue? THANKS

not sure i understand what you want to know, but here goes:

early models made with imported parts were better than the majority of other imported SA at the time, and even better than many SA made here.

recent USFA "all-american" SA are among of the very finest in the world.

you asked: "Why then would one want the later USFA US parts revolvers over the earlier ones...?"   a better question would be why anyone would prefer an earlier model. i sure don't.
