GOTOW was a good mag for gun and shootin information, but I and some of my shootin friends detested the too-long and unnessary ones that featured old B western stars and people who drank whiskey with them. I bought it off the self for a year and had a three yr subscription. I communicated with by e-mail and telephone with their editor about my and others objections to the B western articles. About the time that Jack Lewis passed away (always enjoyed his work in other magazines though), I was told that due to his passing that they at GOTOW would more than likely not run the B western artlicles or not as much. I took out a year subscription as a test, the articles didn't stop, so I didn't reup or never buy off the shelf anymore either(my shootin friends dropped the mag to). Buy gun magazines to read about guns, not old movies and who starred in them. Once in a while I'll check GOTOW out at the magazine rack, still runnin' the movie stuff. Most of the articles about guns, gun tests, etc, I can live without, do miss Adlers and Beliveau's stuff though. They were the prime reason I read GOTOW. Have bought all of Adlers books and alot of Mike's stuff is posted on line, so I'll survive. Just my opinion and stickin' to it!

Well we will see .... Adler's contributions are down I suppose, not that much new coming from the Manufacture's
with the economy.
I enjoy his stuff and own his Conversions book.
He's gleened about all he can from Kirst Strite ... I doubt Howell will have anything for him write about.
And , Milington has had his & family health issues.
Mike B.  ? I'm not sure about what his status is, he's here on the BB with links to his UTube tests, which are fun.
I enjoyed C. Jack Lewis and like most of his musings, saddly he has passed, along with all of his memories and the subjects themselves.

...about 5 weeks ago I re-subscribed to two years, ( they just cashed the check Weds. 11/21/12  :-\ )

I had posted earlier in this string (Apr. 2011)  I enjoy GOTOW , it and the Shootist are the only two Magazines I get.
Shoot Magazine was once on that list till it went belly up along with my remaining issues.

I do like the B movie stuff, but I think we need to support this magazine, as it is really the only one that caters to the kind of guns we enjoy. I hate to think of looking at a shelf full of mags about nothing but Springfield XDM's, Glocks, and AR's.

True west is good but it is a lot little too much like a travel guide that has some old west articles.  I prefer Wild West over True West . It's articles are jest a better read to me.
