Ubeti black powder frame 1873
« on: May 06, 2007, 10:38:36 AM »
Hello everyone.   I am new to this forum but have been a long time lurker.  :)  I always enjoy reading this sites comments.  I have a question.  I have Uberti black powder frame 1873 revolver which has the knurled front base screw.   Where can a get a regular front base screw that is simliar to real colts?  I have tried a real Colt 1873 front base screw and it is too small.   Does anyone make one that will fit a uberti?  Any help would be appreciated.   ;D

Howdy JMD.  Do you have the original box?  At least with Cimarrons, the slotted head screw is in a little plastic bag inside the hollow compartment in the lower left side of the box.

If not, then you can buy one from vtigunparts.com or from Cimarron.  Maybe from Taylors as well.  Note that older guns had a smaller sized screw than those made later.

Thanks Abilene.  I did go back and check the box and it did have the extra screw in it.   It fits perfectly.  I guess it pays to entirely check the box for extras.  ;D     I appreciate the information.
