Modifying a Stevens shotgun
« on: January 18, 2007, 07:19:07 AM »
Other than modifying the shell ejectors to just push the spent rounds up,instead of enjecting them out,,what else would one need to do to make a Stevens acceptable?

Unless you are portraying a barkeep, please don't let anyone cut its barrels! The advantages of a coachgun are IMHO imaginary, and you destroy its price, its patterns, and its usefullness for anything else.  My best matches were fired with a 30" full choke Win '97.

Sir Charles,,,,keeping the full barrel length is one reason I was considering the Stevens. After all, frontier types had to hunt. I agree with you on this. It was the full length shotgun that won the west. As modifying, I was refering to profiling the stock to a more 'period' look.
Oh,,question,,,does SASS or CAS require a 12ga,,or would a 12 or 20 either one work? How is the 'shotgun' catagory judged? Number of pellets?
Thanks for you imput. Its much appreciated.
