Maybe it's George Maledon

The Hangman were a small meanlooking German, George Maledon, who eagerly looked forward to execute the verdict. Pardons and appeals cheated Maledon of his fun in more than half of the cases. Maledon was almost as skilled in handling his gun as he was with the rope, and he shot down five men sentenced to death while they were trying to escape.

'Fraid not, Qball, but interesting response anyway.  Why don't you do a separate post and elaborate on Maledon.  I agree he was an interesting and unique character, deserving of more discussion.

I'm going to take a wild guess, and try Jose Manuel Gonzales.
If not, how about a hint as to which side of Parker's justice this dude fell.

Is that the Judge Prker that was territoral Judge in Ft. Smith, Ark.  I think that Mr. Chambers has the right answer.

We don't have a correct answer yet.  Here's a hint:

"________ then set out on the trail of his father's killers. First was Shannon Campsey, _________ killed him on his own front porch. Doc Ferber was next, he was shot off of his horse with "two forty-five slugs through his breast". John Ferber would have been next, but the day before _________ caught up with him, he was shot for cheating at cards.   ________ went to his funeral just to make sure he was dead. At John Ferber's funeral, _________ met a Deputy United States Marshal who was on the trail of the same men. After talking about the men, _________ was offered, and accepted a commission."

And yes, that was the Judge Parker that was territoral Judge in Ft. Smith, Ark

Now that we know which side of the law he was on, it's only a matter time till we find a scruffy lookin' U.S. Marshall.  We'll start with Frank Eaton, also know as Pistol Pete.

By the way I kind'a liked my first response.  Jose Manuel Gonzales was the other side of the law, and invoked Parker's famous death warrant:

DEATH WARRANT

United States of America
vs.
Jose Manuel Gonzales

Federal District Court
Indian Territory of
Arkansas, Oklahoma, & Texas

"Jose Manuel Miguel Xavier Gonzales, in a few months it will be Spring, the snow of Winter will flee away, the ice will vanish, and the air will become soft and balmy. In short, Jose Manuel Xavier Gonzales, the annual miracle of the year's awakening will come to pass, but you won't be here. The rivulet will run its purling course to the sea, the timid desert flowers will put forth their tender shoots, the glorious valleys of this imperial domain will blossom as the rose, still you won't be here. From every tree top some wildwood songster will carol his mating song, butterflies will sport in the sunshine, the busy bee will hum happily as it pursues its accustomed vocation, the gentle breezes will tease the tassels of wild grasses, and all nature, Jose Manuel Miguel Xavier Gonzales, will be glad, but you won't be here to enjoy it; for I command the Sheriff or some officer or officers of this county to lead you out to some remote spot, swing you up by the neck to a nodding bough of some sturdy oak, and there let you hang till you are dead, dead, dead. And then, Jose Manuel Miguel Xavier Gonzales, I command further that such officer or officers retire quietly from your swinging, dangling corpse, that the vultures may descend from the heavens upon your filthy body and pick the putrid flesh therefrom till nothing remain but the bare bleached bones of a cold-blooded, copper-colored, blood-thirsty, chili-eating, guilty sheep-herding son-of-a-bitch!"

Ya started at the right place, Russ T, so no need to look any farther.  Frank "Pistol Pete" Eaton it is.

Anyone notice a vague resemblance to Willie Nelson?  Maybe it’s the braids?

I think a lot of folks are off on vacations, etc. and not payin' much attention to their 'puters.  Maybe things will pick up here shortly.
