I figure that a sense of basic civility ought to prevail.
This particular forum - by its very nature - shouldn't lend itself to attacks of egotism, since no one's touting personality.
It'd be a bit hard to figure out how to do that sort of thing, when a guy's recommending a book...
Since this deals with the building of a persona, and the historically- accurate clothing and minutia that would go along with it, we shouldn't see anything like how to trick out a firearm in order to hold a mechanical advantage over a fellow shooter, and the merits of coil-springed, investment-cast revolvers, or other hot buttons.
Probably won't see anything about Iraq, political affiliations, religious fervor, the fact that silicone exists for something other than waterproofing, or anything along the lines of internet jokes, either.
It ought to be interesting, informative and respectful and entertaining.
We're adults - we like to be treated fairly and with respect - and we really don't like drama in our daily lives, much less our 19th Century ones, so I figure that those "guidelines" ought to be just enough to serve as the curbs of the superhighway of communication.
