S&W had a Spring Rebate on some Models, it ended Apr. 30.
You can still send in your photo of the QR Code on the Box and a photo of LGS Bill of Sale, that deadline is May 30th.
The Rebate is $50 on my new J-frame, I emailed mine in on the 23rd it was approved, and I got the VISA Gift debit card in the mail on the 30th.  :D

Something old something new...

I was going through my holster collection and pulled this one out.
I made it probably 12 years or so years ago for an Avenging Angel,
Looks pretty cool with the 642  :)

Well, it happened the 6 afore mention planets will align in the Constellation Taurus, so to speak.

A few weeks ago, I dumpster dived an old surfboard, it wasn't great, but not bad either.
On a whim I posted it on eBay, and it sold the same day....
My friend @ the LGS has sale buy on Taurus Poly Protector's, so I snagged one.

Planets aligned and I'm not really out pocket  ;)

Thanks Mike.... I actually didn't plan to get a Polymer pistol...
I've had a couple, (a Glock 17, door prize I won and traded for Springfield 1911 Operator)
And a previously owned 2019 SIG 365, one of the ones with the early firing pin breaking issues.
I had the SIG stocking dealer repair and consigned it and down the road it went.

I did not know too much about the Polymer revolvers...I knew Ruger had the LCR since about 2008.
S&W has their Bodyguard since the early teens ... Then I saw that Taurus has had the 605 out 9 or 10 years too.
All three have been on U-tube with favorable reviews and comparisons.

Major:

The plastic revolvers’ claim to fame is
Very light weight
Price point
Reasonably robust
More corrosion resistant (mostly) , esp important in your climate

But are known to have stiff to awful trigger pulls and not so good accuracy.

But as pocket revolvers, they shine! Plus most folks (exclluding me) are not to worried about accuracy
Past 20 feet. Pie plate accuracy at that distance makes them happy.

Me, not so much.
If I am to keep a firelock, I demand 2inch OR BETTER groups, at 25 yards, with premium target ammunition, fired from a mechanical rest . That way I KNOW that any misses are my fault.
You would be Surprised how many pistolas can achieve this once the optimum conditions for said pistol
Are achieved. Plus said tweaking means more excuses for range time. Usually unfortunately indoors….
But hey.

I got to shoot it today, @ 7 yards  :)
I'm satisfied for its intended use, I have an emergency ditty bag for road emergencies, and will add the Taurus.
I feel the stainless & Poly will keep well with limited care packed within, were an autoloader more in likely would not.

I'll still CCW pocket the S&W 642... and for woods camp, add the EMP w/ in a flap holster.
