Why not.  Clones or Colt's?

This one is still in the white, with one piece ivory.  And might well be better than many a Colt's.  It is a Unicorn with gold horn and all!

Above was early in the process.

First of all, Yahoody, that's one fine piece that I think anyone would love to carry to their next Picnic... WOW, one of the finest I've ever seen.

My fancy guns are a set of Turnbull Open Range with Level "A" Engraving with Elephant Ivory Grips from Jim Alaimo @ Nutmeg Sports.

“I have, in my day, thieved cattle, your lordship. But none that were under my watch” (“Is that what passes for honor with a MacGregor”, Earl of Montrose), “What passes for honor with me, is likely not the same as with your Lordship, when my word is given, it is good”

Highlander THAT is a stunning set of guns!   All the best of everything there in engraving, ivory and guns.  Well done IMO.

Appreciate the compliments on mine, thank you all.

Thanks Yahoody, I like them as well, the engraving of course and case hardening from Turnbull are excellent, and Jim picked me out the best ivory he had at the time (he didn't have any bark, as that was what I really wanted), but they have some graining, and little by little handling them, oiling them, etc they are really starting to develop some character.  I'd always wanted a pair of "SHOOTIST" guns.  While the Duke's were Great Western with Mastadon (and they were probably C) engraved, these will work :)

There's a post on the USFA that mentions "HOLSTER CARRYING USFA"..  While I don't really, it's more I don't get the chance.  I usually carry a nice set of Cimarron 5 1/2 Martial US marked with Tru-Ivory Grips, that shoot well and have nice trigger pulls.  They are the guns (on in particular) that I usually have on horseback, and hopefully a grandchild/great grandchild will like the idea of having Granddad's gun he carried in the West (my version of T.R.'s revolver he carried)...

Anyway, thanks for the comments.  Your Unicorn gun truly is superb though :)
