Thanks Yahoody, I like them as well, the engraving of course and case hardening from Turnbull are excellent, and Jim picked me out the best ivory he had at the time (he didn't have any bark, as that was what I really wanted), but they have some graining, and little by little handling them, oiling them, etc they are really starting to develop some character. I'd always wanted a pair of "SHOOTIST" guns. While the Duke's were Great Western with Mastadon (and they were probably C) engraved, these will work
There's a post on the USFA that mentions "HOLSTER CARRYING USFA".. While I don't really, it's more I don't get the chance. I usually carry a nice set of Cimarron 5 1/2 Martial US marked with Tru-Ivory Grips, that shoot well and have nice trigger pulls. They are the guns (on in particular) that I usually have on horseback, and hopefully a grandchild/great grandchild will like the idea of having Granddad's gun he carried in the West (my version of T.R.'s revolver he carried)...
