Andy - the post office says you should get the holster in a week or so depending on customs..........I guarantee it's even better in person!
The belt is off another rig that I just finished - Andy's holster just looked so lonely
:
This is an early Texas half skirt, a style I've never done before and I REALLY like it - the belt, per the customer's order, was made to look as though it was "expanded" for size like was done on at least some originals. The billet with the holes was "moved" to the end of the belt body, laced on with rawhide, and rivetted with a large harness rivet (most period holster/belt rivets were size 14, the size I used on the buckle end - the one on the other end is a size 12). The roller buckle is 100+years old - came off some old, mostly worn out cavalry harness I found.......
Marshall Will - that "subtle shine" is mostly from a lot of time and elbow grease - in the "aging" process I finish, work that down, re-finish/re-work, maybe re--finish/re-work some more, and finish up by burnishing with a piece of antler and/or old jeans........it looks even better in person - the camera just doens' pick up the subtleties the way I wish it could - then of course their is that "smell"!
PS Camille got your email - will give you a shout in the morning...........going to town wears a soul out
