30-30 mouse phart load share

Here's mine:

CCI primer - 22 gr. IMR4198 powder - 115 gr. L FPBB "Beartooth Bullet" and a stout crimp. I run them through a '94 Wrangler (16" bbl) and the kids and the ladies love it, which ticks off the guys because the want to shoot it.
The round will clink a 12" square steel plate at 100 yds and the recoil is minimal.

What's yourn?

Sky Soldier,
I have a few .... I like recreating the early 30-30 "Short Range"(1896-1924)  and "Miniature" (1903-1920) cartridges.

"Short Range"  100 gr cast bullet / 1,250 f.p.s.  ( 6 grs. TB or Unique or Universal or 4756)
"Miniature"  100 FMC / 1,500 f.p.s. (110 gr MI Carbine bullet  8 grs. Unique or Universal)

Your load is close to replicating the Remington Managed Recoil cartridge ( 125 gr @ 2,100 fps.)

My Good Sky Soldier-

several Lustrum past, I gave my FIL a pre-64 Win mod 94 I had acquired in trade. His desires for a non-house piercing sub-urban SD load brought up the same quesion as yours.

I cast about and settled on the 110 gr HP Speer jacketed .30 bullet atop 10 gr of Unique. I was completed astonished, this load was very light, easy to manage, low recoil and report, and consistantly hit just above 1500 fps. Even better, with iron sights it cut cloverleafs at 25 yards!

I now find that 10 gr of unique seems to be considered the "universal load" :

I am a bit behind on modern developments since these days all I have to shoot is a Khyber Pass matchlock muzzleloader (it makes shooting CAS matches rather slow)

hope this helps

From my krag i used 10 grain aa2 and a 170 grain bearcreek moly bullet that put 3 rounds under a quarter none of the hole visible at 50 yards.  Thinking that would make a good GAF load.
