I don't have my fishing license in this state yet.  And I don't feel like learning the regulations right now, either. ::)

I don't understand sports, either.

Apparently, someone decided that we weren't supposed to have a nice evening, because they rolled in a thunderstorm.  25+mph winds, gusting to 40.  Rain and flashes, too.  I was up on the rims above town enjoying a good cigar when it blew in.  It's hard to keep a cigar lit in a storm.

Rooster: rodent for supper? rat on a stick?

Del: I concurr re polluting with balloons. foil balloons short power lines. critters eat the rubber ones and die. and the remains pollute for ages.

Del & TK:
I can explain sports!
it is the transmorgrification of the natural hostility to those that are not us ( tribal village preservation instinct) to allow symbolic
and physical warfare ( theoretically without killing) between the "thems" and the "us", thus providing an outlet to said agressions
and to further suplement the global economy via mass consumption of beer and pizza by the "masses who watch"  (aka sheeple)

Well the evening with the grandkids was saved. The Bugeaters lost and even though Golden Corral is right on the escape route to Omaha, few stopped and the place never reached more than 2/3rd full.   The situation would have been different had there been a win, place would have been packed and we would have heard about how "WE" beat them and how many bad calls the refs made in the other teams favor.  Lived here to long to expect different.   I still conclude it's 90% of the fans give the other 10% a bad name, decided that 50 years ago and have seen little to change my mind.

Morning all.  Another sunny one today.  Still no flying, but that was expected.

So I'm sitting in the dorm reading psychology homework.  And yes, it really is as bland as it sounds.  But, I have a test on Thursday, so I should probably be studied up on the subject.

I would agree.  The problem is, the school has a ridiculous tobacco policy.  They tried to give me a policy violation for "tobacco paraphernalia" because I carry a Bic lighter in my pocket.  Yep.  I got out of that one by having friends in high places (a department head who my dad served under when they were both in the Air Force), but that shows the type of environment I'm in.  I couldn't store my tobacco or pipe properly.

Del, my school had a football game last night.  I'm assuming we won, since there was a barbecue party under my window all night.

Oh. My.

Well, Since Prof Marvel is a snake oil merchant and a scheisse stirrer, he has an answer to that.

I  carry my stuff in a beaded smoked braintan pouch. includes tobacco, a piece of sweetgrass, cedar, and sage.
The 4 sacred herbs of the Lahkota.
Posession is "Freedom of Religion" as it is all Lahkotah Prayer paraphernalia.
One does not have to "be Lahkota" to pray with tobacco, anymore than one must  be Italian to be Catholic, or Israeli to read the Torah .

I had a psychology class or two. They are in no way as exciting as history.  ;)

Went the the fair grounds after church. The kids rode horses.

The two oldest pro football teams play at 7:20 PM CDT, if anyone cares.

I find psychology as interesting as history! Both teach us how others try to manipulate people.

Cloudy and damp today, but no rain. Grass still wet but I mowed some anyway. Another few days and I might need the brush hog to mow it.

How do you think I have become one of the most loved had station clerks in the area.  I can tell people to go to Hell and  have them look forward to the trip ;D
