Gentlemen,

Chris Spencer came to me in my dreams and asked me why I have allowed this thread to grow and in the process besmirch our beloved Spencer by taking away from its contribution to American history . . . "it is what it is and should be remembered in that way" . . .  He also suggested that I perhaps lock this thread or move it to the Henry Forum . . . and standing by his side, nodding his head in agreement, was Abe.

The small frame Spencer firearms were made in both .38 and .44 rim fire caliber.
These would be just about equal to .38 and .44 Colt, but of Spencer design.
They are very rear.
My best,

Now that this is in a more appropriate area, I wonder if Henry Firearms would be willing to produce a Henry in a 56-50 caliber?
For some reason I don't think this will happen.
Just a thought on my part?

Been away but this got my ears pricked. Small frame Spencer or a Henry in 44 Russian I am in. I have to ask why Uberti made a 1894 with all the work involved and not do either of the above. It would be to much to ask for a Volcanic Carbine ;D ::)
I still look in each week.

Uh, yeah, change my request for a '60 Henry Mares Leg, which was in jest, to a .44 Russian Volcanic.  I would buy that!

For me ....... An 1860 Henry chambered in 44 Russian would be the Beez Kneez.  Take about 5 minutes to alter the Carrier Block for the Russian and ZOWEEE would that ever be fun.

I shot a monthly match yesterday with my Henry Trapper (16 inch barrel .45) which is set up for Cowboy 45 Special.  What a sweet rifle.

My thought is the closest we can get in a modern cartridge is the 44 Russian.  I would just have to hot foot to my LGS to buy an HRA 1860 in 44 Russian.  You Betcha.  Never mind that I have 4 Henry rifles.  One chambered in 44 Russian would be made with Gottahaveieum!!
