Fer muskmelons try a Rockyford, on with green flesh.  don't plant no cantalopes, they is an inferior type of musk melon, or just plant any yaller fleshed on with ribs on in, don't want no smooth skinned canterlopes.

Watermelons, plant Black Diamonds or don't bother, my mom planted hers monday. ;D

Watermelons aren't my favorite item.  I'm not into things that are too wet and too sticky!  I prefer berries and fruit from trees.

Where do you want to be?

Sod Buster Township is a mythical place like Lit'l Roosterville, Ozark Kingdom, etc.

I've got fields planted with crops from Virginny to Nebraska!

Dang!  I forgot to pick the cherries.  I better get them tomorrow.

they's a few of them things that grow in the garden I sure do like,  surely we can make room for them :o :o ;D

There's a fella that lives close by that wanted to get a couple of acres to plant him some garden, so I let him work up  a little spot, the main reason was he farms with his mule and I enjoy watching  him and that mule working,  It just brings you to think about how much work growing food used to be.

He was out here this afternoon and I took a couple of pictures.

Sod Buster,  he is a good a guy as there is and you can tell by watching him and that mule are on the same page when their working.

he was telling me this afternoon that he was working his home garden once and a load of teenagers went by down to his neighbors,  he said the neighbor came by the next day and told him the teenagers were down there talking a bout how that guy down the road must be in bad shape he could'nt even afford a garden tiller, had to use his mule.

levi got a real kick out of it.
