I've got a couple pictures. I will put in a disclaimer here. The lumber I used is some rough sawn local pine I bought years ago. Some of it got wet causing gray streaking in it. So I used what I had laying around. Also, I haven't quite got the knack of squaring up rough sawn lumber yet.

This pic is a before and after of the barrel rests cut out.

This pic is the assembly so far. I have to attach the spacer blocks for the buttstocks and assemble the drawers.

I'm debating about applying some stain to help cover the gray streaks. I usually don't stain wood, just add coats of poly.

Actually , Slim, The gray might give it a little "character" under the finish. Myself, I'd leave it that way and put the poly over it................Buck 8) ::) ;)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

Some areas of Wiscoooooooooonsin were prairie, but not where I live. It was mostly pine forest with some hardwoods.

we had a lot of open prarie over in Oklahoma, not many big trees at all,  but I think somebody stumbled with the seed sack over here, lots of pine trees and lots of hardwood trees some of em are the old growth hardwoods,

the turkeys reallly enjoy when the curtain goes down, they all stand over on the sunny side of the house just looking around.  they'll be 8 weeks old on Friday.

you remember in Josey Wales, when the Indian told him he was a civilized Cherokee, Josey asked him what that meant, civilized,  he told him that meant now the white people could sneak up on him without him hearing em. ;D
