Uberti 1858 Remington New Army Questions
« on: January 17, 2011, 06:13:08 PM »
I have tow questions that I would appreciate any help.

1.  The Barrell Stud that hold the loading lever latch and is attached to the Barrel has come loose twice.  I re-set it into its' dovetail using Loctite 'Weld" and this worked fine for awhile but came loose again this weekend.  What is the best way to fix this permanently?  What is a better epoxy or what is a better solution?  Thanks.

2.  What is a good source for Uberti 1858 New Army aftermarket parts?

                 Thanks in advance for anyhelp.

For parts go to    "VTI Gun Parts"    :)
Beware the man with one gun, he probably knows how to use it.

Whether you want the barrel stud locked in hard depends upon the barrel length.  If you have a full 8 inchor 7-1/2 inch barrel, you can peen the dovetail with a punch to pinch the stud in, or use red locktite.  If you have the 5-1/2 inch barrel, you need to remove the stud to completely remove the cylinder pin, should you want to for whatever reason.
