Recoil pad installation jig (fixture)
« on: July 18, 2006, 04:56:41 PM »
I've seen these in catalogs for a long time and there's one on sale at Midway this month for $24.99. As I have about 3 or 4 pad jobs to do , I thought I might get one, but I just can't tell from looking at it how they work.   Anyone know a site with pics or can you explain it for me?

Kid,

The jig holds the recoil pad at the same angle as it would be on the stock, allowing the proper contour so it matches the gun when re-attached. You'll need a table-mounted disc or belt sander to use the jigs.

Try searching the Brownells website for particulars. You can even call their tech line for help before or after a purchase....they'll even help you if you don't buy their product.....good folks for sure.
