USFA CSS / Re: 38/40 serial number

 :) King  ;)

Hanging it all out, based on the Roll Marks and SN, I'm calling it a US Parts gun.  Either way, it's and excellent example.  Cylinder shows signs of the action having been cycled several times at least.  Price isn't out of line with current trends for USFA offerings.

Your Move.

Tall Tales / Re: May we move on, for coffee and chat ?

Great niece is graduating today, we decided to go to just the reception.  A lot less walking, I could OK, Rita would not.

Because of a fluke we had to go to Costco on Wednesday, not the day to go.  Went early afternoon, first try no old people carts, so went to the Walmart nearby, came back and the same, went to lunch, place we chose was not real busy but most were, mostly old people though for what there were, half full and it's pushing 3pm.   Costco was the same, no carts, Took the Walmart plunder back home, had coffee and headed back, no carts, decided to sit on ledge and wait, a friend came in with one, talked a bit, second one did not come so I got a push cart.  Mostly made it, decided to test out a fancy easy chair, was nice, but way to expensive and Rita finished up and we paid, loaded and left.

Mike its not really an issue... IF I see something that lights my fire.
and IF its a price I feel right and IF I have the dockets in the sock drawer AKA spare "CASH"
Then may haps my Gun-a-holic fever temp's rise...

T'was not the case today... well there is a rack of Milsurps, all consignments,
but the consigner is eh, off in the stratosphere... :o so they've been there quite a while.

The Winchester Model 1876 / Re: 50-95 Express loading tools
« Last post by Boone May on Today at 12:20:06 PM »
I am lucky enough to already have a better set of Express loading tools than what is offered.  I am also lucky enough to have paid way less than what this gent is asking.  I don't have the decapper pin...
The mold for this GI set is missing the plug that makes the bullet hollow point.
My set below along with an original box of cartridges.  Also adding the GI link for those inclined for a look-see.

The Winchester Model 1876 / Re: how long have you had a 76 rifle?
« Last post by Boone May on Today at 12:01:36 PM »
I bought my first 1876 rifle in 1987.  Like Buck Stinson, I have owned about 30 over the years in all four calibers.  I currently have nine of them, all originals.  Three in .45-75, two in .50 Express, two in .40-60, and two in .45-60.  I am just the current caretakers of these fine arms.

Hi
If you live anywhere close to Liberty Missouri, Definitely go to James Country and see Del and Jean.  On a side note, when traveling and planning on a overnight stay, ALWAYS KNOW WHERE TAYLOR SWIFT is.  we went to see Jean and Del and ended up spending the night in Sedalia Missouri.

Actually, Black Powder and Subs will greatly speed the "Patina" process, but, unfortunately it isn't a quick process.  Takes time.  Just have to convince yourself to ignore the stains until the stains are everywhere.  8)

Oh, also, you may consider coming over to The Dark Side  ::)
