Sounds like my old company, Del. North Canton is really hurtin' fer tax dollars now that it's gone. layin' off safety personnel, etc.............They can't say we didn't warn'em. The Union was tryin' to get them to wise up for the last two contracts we did up there. Except for two models, everything Hoover branded is now Chinese. Those two left are possibly Mexican now. Parts are made in ElPaso and then sent to Juarez for final assembly. So none of them are actually made in the USA....................Buck 8) :-\ :( >:(

Buck, El Paso is still a part of Texas, even though it's in another time zone.  There's a lot of stuff made over in Juarez, They've even got a brewery over there.

When I lived in Fremont, CA we had the NUMI plant that built Geos.  Foreign parts assembled here that were OK cars.  One of the best places ta work in that part of the state.  Shut 'er down and started makin em in Mexico with the Chevy emblem on em stead of Geo.  The Metro was crap, but my ex is still drivin around in the Cali built Prism I bought fer her 15 years ago.  The new ones er lucky ta run fer 5.

Prism was ah Toyota in ah Fisher body...

Metro was ah Suzuki in ah Fisher body.

Big difference.

Yep, the Prism was perty much a base model Camery.  The Metro was about on par with a Dodge Sprint when it came to foreign stuff assembled in America.

The largest sand dune area in the Western Hemisphere is in the state, although they get enough rain that they are covered with grass, The Newbrassky Sandhills.

Nafta killed the plant I used to work at. Mr. Perot was right about that big sucking sound. :o ::)
another Nebraska fact, my Grandfather and Grandmother on Dad's side were from the N.E. corner of the state. They moved to Cali. about 1905 or so. Small town in Knox county, which doesn't exist anymore except for some satelite photo's that Del found for me about 4 years ago. He had a bunch of fun digging for me. I'd love to get out there sometime and walk around that area..................Buck 8) ::)
